Tom Mote, 78, of Hope passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born on May 11, 1945 in Greensburg, Tom was the son of Wayne Mote and Bessie Readnour Powers. Before retirement, Tom was employed as a factory worker at Cummins Engine Company.

Tom enjoyed fishing, NASCAR races, and  watching sports. Tom really enjoyed the time he spent working outside in his yard.

Tom was a member of Hartsville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his son, Kris (Heather) Mote of Anderson, IN; grandchildren, Emily Mote of Lapel, IN and Austin (Karly) Mote of Pendleton, IN; siblings, Bob (Norma) Mote of Columbus, Ernie (Sharon) Mote of Hope, and Carol Tatman of Hartsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Glen Powers; brothers, Don Mote and Ken Mote; and niece, Shari Mote.

Following Tom's wishes, cremation is planned.

A memorial visitation for Tom will be held on Friday, April 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home.
