Tony Ray Whittington, Sr., 60 of Hope passed away Thursday June 8, 2023 at his residence.

Born August 26, 1962 in Columbus he was the son of Danny R. Whittington and Ruth I. Smith Whittington.

Tony is survived by children, Michelle (John) Mercer of Hope and Nikki Whittington of Frankfort, IN; grandchildren, Rachelle Whittington, Abraxas Blanz, Xavier Mercer, Cameron Mercer, Matthew Mercer, John Mercer, Jr. and Nevaeh Tice; sister, Teresa Whittington of Hope.

Tony had previously attended Hartsville Church of Christ.

He loved spending time with and going on trips with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and camping.

The funeral for Tony will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.  It will be officiated by Brad Douglas.  Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  Cremation is planned following the service.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his son, T.J. Whittington.
