Wallace W. Harrod's Obituary
Wallace W. Harrod, 98, of Flat Rock, died Thursday Dec. 13, 2012, at Waldron Health and Rehab.
Wallace was a retired farmer and also was a substitute mail carrier out of the Flat Rock Post Office for 37 years. He was a charter member of Flat Rock Fire Department and a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Leslie Fix officiaitng. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Flat Rock United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 56 , Flat Rock, IN 47234.
Born in Flat Rock February 14, 1914 , Wallace was the son of Charles L.and Frances Hiatt Harrod. He married Loraine Stoughton on June 22, 1941, and she preceded him in death on December 23, 2006.
Survivors include a son, Philip (wife Linda) Harrod of Flat Rock; a granddaughter, Angie Witzmann of Greenwood; a grandson, Andrew Harrod of Columbus; a great-grandson, Justin Snyder of Greenwood; two stepgreat-granddaughters, Sarah Leslie of Austin, TX, and Katie Morgan of Raleigh, NC; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents , his wife and a sister Marjorie Harrod.
