Wanda "Sue" Bates, 68, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born on September 23, 1953 in Columbus, Sue was the daughter of Bill and Evelyn Bushong Erwin. She married Edwin Bates.
Sue had been the office manager for Hillview Mobile Park. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing Bingo, and going on vacations to the beach and the mountains. Most of all, Sue loved her family.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin Bates of Columbus; daughter, Tammy (Warren) Erwin Harris of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Logan Erwin and Kylie Harris; and siblings, Faye Howard, Debra Scott, Brenda Edwards, and Greg Erwin.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Jerry Erwin.
Following Sue's wishes, cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 24 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home.
