Obituary

The Rev. Dr. Wayne Bozell , 87 of Hope passed away Saturday Dec. 20, 2008 at 4:55 a.m. at Columbus Regional Hospital. Rev. Bozell had served with the U.S. Army for 20 years serving during W.W. II and retiring as a Chief Warrent Officer. He pastored in the United Church of Christ having served at churches in Beamsville, Ohio, Dunkirk, Shelbyville Zion, Hanna's Creek-Boston Charge, Clifford and Norman all in Indiana. Born July 29, 1921 in Bartholomew Co., Rev. Bozell was the son of Rev. Ray and Hallie Andrews Bozell. He married Louise Blackledge on Dec. 1, 1945 and she survives. Other survivors include daughters Ginny McKinney of Columbus and Cathy Ann (Ron) Fetter of Hope; grandchildren Bill Thurston, Jason (April) Thurston, Anessia Meekins and Greg (Tanya) Fetter; and seven greatgrandchildren. He was precedded in death by his parents, a brother Max Bozell and a foster brother Robert Wheaton. There will be no calling hours or service. A private burial will held at a later date at Old Union Cemetery near Edinburgh. Memorials may be given to Old Union Cemetery 1253 N 50 W Edinburgh, IN 46124.
