Willie R. Janes, 85 of North Vernon died Monday December 13, 2010
at 6:05 am at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was retired from Cosco where his position was a supervisor.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved fishing, hunting,
throwing horseshoes and shooting a bow and arrow.
The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be
at Garland Brook Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Bartholomew County
Humane Society or Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis through the funeral
home.
Born on February 10, 1925 in Adair Co., Ky, Willie was the son of
Alvie and Izora Sexton Janes. He married Musetta Jessie Wisdom in 1983 and she
preceded him in death in 2002.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Hill of Shelbyville, Judy Lane of
Columbus, Peggy Sanders of North Vernon, Pamela (Jeff) Trosky of
Columbus, Tammy Janes of Columbus, Nicky Bowers of Greenwood and
Beverly Matlock of North Vernon; 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren
and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
