Wilma Irene Merrick, 76, of Columbus passed away Monday March 6, 2008 at Casa de la Luz Hospice Facility in Tucson, AR.
Mrs. Merrick was a nurse's aide for 28 years at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was a member of the Petersville United Methodist Church. She was in the Senior Citizen Kitchen Band. She loved to read, crochet, do crafts, go fishing and spend time with her family.
The funeral will be Friday March 14 at 1:00 PM at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Born March 30, 1931 in Hope, IN, she was the daughter of Verbal and Hazel Cooper Ketchum.
Surviviors include; 2 daughters, Teresa (Max) Mote of Tucson and Catherine"Katie" Acree of Nashville, IN; a son, Ross(Brenda) Newsom of Ogilville; grandchildren, Michael(De) Acree, Daniel(Janice) Acree, Racheal Acree, Sara(Mike) Lawson, Brian(Anna) Mote, Noel and Holly Newsom; step grandchildren, Lindsay and Jennifer Mathis; great garndchildren, Courtney, Christopher, and Michaela Acree and Elizabeth Lawson; step great grandchildren, Nick and Ashley Henson and a foster brother, Lory Weekly.
Mrs. Merrick was preceded in death by; her parents,3 husbands,a son Joseph Newsom, and 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Clare Mote.
