Edell J. Baxter, 74 ,of Columbus passed away at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday December 22, 2010 at Columbus Health and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Baxter had worked at Arvins Industries and Cummins Engine Co. and also had been a race horse trainer for 27 years.
She was a member of The Thoroughbred Racing Association.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Stephen Pumphrey officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery west of Clifford.
Memorials may be made to a memorial fund for Mrs. Baxter.
Born September 15, 1936, Mrs. Baxter was the daughter of Clarence and Pearl Bishop Waltz. She married Morris Baxter in 1954 and he survives.
Other survivors include children Wade Baxter of New Orleans, Rebecca Clayburn of Columbus and Roy (Diane) Baxter of Union City; seven grandchildren and
six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
