Elizabeth A. Smith, 53 of Hope died Monday August 19, 2019 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was employed by Grub Hub as a driver and had previously worked for Kroger.
Born November 26, 1965 in Indianapolis, Elizabeth was the daughter of Nellie Mize and was raised by her mother and step father, Gary Mize. She married Curtis Smith April 14, 1984 and he survives.
Other survivors include children, Curtis (Samantha Lawson) Smith II of Hope, MaDora (Jordan) Shipman of Golf Port, MS, Bradley (Lesley) Smith of Hope, Cheris Smith of Indianapolis and DeWaunne Sledge of Hope; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Robert DeWitt II of Freetown, Joe(Roxanne) DeWitt of Hope, Thomas Allen of Columbus, Dawn Hunter of Hope, Shawn (Jody) Johnson of Columbus, Tammy (Jamie) Thixton of Columbus, Jessie (Sharon) Mize of Seymour; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Elizabeth's funeral will be Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Mark Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
Elizabeth loved spending time with her grandchildren and collecting owls and McCoy antiques.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gary and Nellie Mize; sister, Sherry Roberts; brother, Wally Mize; in-laws, Kenny and Martha Smith and several other family members.
